This high performance CAI effectively opens up the intake system of Ford's new five-liter power plant and allows it to breath much more freely than the stock intake system allows - taking your 2011 3.7L V6 Mustang to the next level of performance.
The 2011 3.7L V6 Mustang's intake system from Ford is an excellent piece, one of the best ever to come out of Dearborn. But as usual, the engineers at Steeda were up to the challenge of making it even better for the performance customer that demands more power.
Our engineers started with a large surface area high-flow nano-fiber air filter, added our famous "race-tested" velocity stack entry and then designed a stainless steel heat shield with a durable rubber gasket to seal the shield against the vehicle's hood. Next we increased the MAF housing size and coupled it to a new higher flowing Pro-Flow inlet hose with our Cool-Tube Technology.
To ensure the densest air charge possible we retained the factory cold air feed ducting from the front bumper. Steeda was the first company to do this starting in 2010 with our 2010 GT intake and have carried this innovation over to the 2011 model. We also sealed the stainless steel shield to the hood to prevent any hot air from being sucked in from around the engine compartment. Some manufacturers have chosen to ignore the factory cold air ducting, while others don't bother to seal and isolate the airbox, which are both keys to keeping the lowest air charge temperatures possible. Also, our billet aluminum velocity stack and high flow air filter ensure a clean, streamlined air charge into the engine.
This Cold Air Intake is so effective at improving airflow into the five-liter engine that a performance tune is not just recommended, it is required for maximum performance! In an effort to maximize performance and provide our customers with only the very best products we have partnered with the leader in automotive tuning - SCT Performance and their X3 tuning device.
Combined with the required custom tunes in the included SCT X3 Flash programming device we have achieved dramatic power increases of up to 20hp and 30ft/lbs of torque!

Our power increase it not just a peak number at one point in the band. The actual power increase is spread throughout the entire rpm range so your increased performance is available on demand in any gear at virtually any rpm! For automatic transmission equipped vehicles, shift points and shift firmness are modified to improve performance as well. Also expect noticeably improved throttle response no matter what transmission you have.
Note: requires a minimum of 91 octane fuel for power gains.

If your looking for a performance upgrade to your stock 3.7 L Mustang without breaking the bank, here's what i recommend. I recently purchased a 2012 auto v6 mustang my wife could drive. I ordered Steeda's Ultimate Induction Pak, with an SCT Tuner (89/91/93 octane custom tune). The induction Pak is quality built, not cheap plastic and has killer looks. I down loaded the 91 octane tune, right away you notice firmer shifts, no more slush shifting. You feel the performance gains and notice the fuel saving if you keep your foot out of it. Steeda.ca's tunes give you bang for the buck and they knows how to make the v6 perform.
This pack is awesome!!!!! The intake looks great and sounds even better when you put your foot into it (almost sounds like it's supercharged). Definately adds power low and top end. You have to use the tuner otherwise your air/fuel mixture will be way off. This intake sucks the air in like a hoover!!! I am very happy with this package and fuel mileage seems to be better despite my heavy foot. Once you get it the guys at Steeda.ca are quick to get you your custom tunes :)
