Yes - the factory shift boot fits directly over this shifter, a replacement is not required.

Great shifter - very little noise compared with the stock shifter and much more precise shifting. Makes for a more enjoyable driving experience.

Great short shifter. A must for racing, solo sport, or just aggressive shifting. Ratchet action means you won't miss a shift and damage your tranny. The shifter goes into the correct gear with just a push. In fact, if you miss a shift, you do not know how to drive a manual transmission. The adjustable stops take care of hard shifts hurting the transmission as well. Easy install, works great and would highly recommend for anyone who has an aggressive driving style. I would not recommend it for someone looking for a smooth shifting short shifter.

I've owned my mustang for about 22 years , and I have never changed the shifter until now . The feeling of the stock shiter is great, but this one makes the shifts much quicker , with better control of the gears . You can change the look of the car with 2 adjustable heights . The quality of this product is the best, and I was able to reuse the stock boots . On my 1994 Mustang I had to grind 2 round edges at the front of shifter in order to install the 2 front bolts . Nothing else to do. A little noise comes from the transmission by the shifter, but after using better oil the feel of the shifts were much smoother. Thank you Steeda

Marche #1 pus rien de lousse.

Shifts very nicely. The shorter stick means it's a bit stiffer to push sideways to 1st/2nd and 5th/R, but when it goes into gear it feels so much cleaner. There's a little bit more gear whine with this shifter, but nothing that's a problem (my car is kinda noisy to begin with). The throw is so incredibly short, I had a hard time with my custom NSS because the stick moves less than the width of an LED side to side near the bottom. The rubber boot and leather boot both fit back on perfectly. All in all I'm very happy with my purchase.
